CALGARY INDIAN FRIENDSHIP CENTRE / BUNGALOW

Depicted here in its 1970s condition, in 1967 the Calgary Indian Friendship Centre moved into this bungalow, constructed in 1910.
HISTORIC BUILDING PHOTOGRAPHS
These photographs of the Calgary Indian Friendship Centre were shared with the REFLECTIVE URBANISMS project following conversations with I Love YYC‘s Alice Lam (who was in previous dialogues with local historians John Coates and Doug Coates), and Marilyn Williams, Alastair Pollock and The City of Calgary, who shared images from former City of Calgary employee Slawa Gruszczynska. The images show both the 1967 – 1978 building as well as the building that was constructed in 1980, photographed in 2018 prior to its demolition.
